Uneducated motorists unable to maintain safe lane position

Reported via iOS in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 07:56, Fri 23 July 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2884770.

When coming off the m55 junction from north bound m6 there are 2 lanes for the a6. When using the right hand lane it goes 2 lanes, these arnt marked on the road which I think is confusing a lot of motorists as when I use the right lane to overtake slower vehicles they’re nearly coming into the side of me. It happens that often as this is my daily route that I hang back to allow this to happen and prevent accidents.

They have confirmed that the roundabout at M55 junction 1/Broughton Interchange is managed and maintained by Lancashire County Council. Any amendments to the road markings at this location would be arranged by them.
