Collapsed Manhole
Reported via desktop in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 16:41, Fri 16 July 2021
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2870075.
The man hole in the centre of the roadway is collapsed and loose directly opposite the Towcester Garage. Every vehicle driving over this manhole makes a loud clanking noise which is causing stress and noise nuisance to surrounding residents. This is made considerably worse due to the number of HGV's and other vehicles using the A5 due to the M1 closures which appears to be getting more and more frequent!

This issue has not been resolved and the man hole is still making a loud noise every time a vehicle passes over it. I see from other reports in the area that the similar issue outside the Brave Old Oak public house is to be repaired NLT 23/07 - surely if you are sending a team to repair this manhole then diverting them 200yds down to road to correct this issue would make perfect sense????? Can we assume that this report/repair will be rolled up into the similar issue and corrected at the same time?

I'm also reporting this issue and it's still causing a disturbance to the local community. You have a duty to fix this so stop delaying, pull your finger out and get someone in to repair it!

I am struggling to understand how this process of reporting issues actually works! You have responded to a report of a similar issue less than 200m further up the road, but have failed to provide any update on this specific issue. I am certain that if this manhole was located outside your bedroom window and constant clanking can be heard every time EVERY vehicle passes over this manhole cover, this would have been investigated and repaired by now!! It is frustrating that only recently there were extensive roadworks, with traffic control, only a few hundred yards away from this location and this issue was ignored. I feel that this will only be repaired once the manhole collapses completely and someone is seriously injured.
