Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 13:12, Fri 16 July 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

Half the gullies on the Orwell Bridge have grass like vegetation visibly growing out of them up to a height of 20-30cm. Good drainage is essential for the removal of surface water and reduction in the risk of aquaplaning and accidents on the bridge. Please arrange for the gullies to be cleaned out

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England.

We carry out regular inspections of all our roads and cut back the vegetation where we find that it is limiting visibility of road signs, traffic signals or the view ahead. Your concerns have been passed to our maintenance team. They will inspect the area shortly and if necessary, arrange for the vegetation to be removed from the gullies.
