Vegitation blocking view of approaching traffic

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 18:41, Thu 8 July 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2850879.

Vegetation on the south side of the slip road near the roundabout is blocking the view of traffic approaching on Leffins Lane. it also blocks the view of traffic on the A47 slip road for traffic on Leffins Lane. This has led to a few sudden stops recently. With the addition of numerous new family dwellings on the north side of the roundabout, and the resulting increase in road use, this problem will have a much higher probability of contributing to a traffic collision in the future. As the problem has persisted for some time, it begs a permanent form of remediation. Thank you.

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England

We carry out regular inspections of all our roads and cut back the vegetation where we find that it is limiting visibility of road signs, traffic signals or the view ahead. Your concerns have been passed to our maintenance team. They will inspect the area shortly and if necessary, arrange for vegetation/grass to be cut.

    Kind Regards Highways England
