Dangerous road markings.

Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 17:09, Sun 4 July 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2839768.

On clockwise exit slip road. Lane markings at traffic signals indicate that middle lane traffic may turn right and right lane traffic may proceed ahead. There is, therefore, potential conflict. A217 southbound approach to roundabout. Lane markings for traffic entering roundabout indicate that left lane traffic may turn left. But when traffic signals are red, a driver may read the permanently green filter arrow as permission to proceed left. There is, therefore, potential conflict.

Updates

  • No update on this particular matter. The first time I ever reported something to the council was in 1980 regarding an incorrect road sign. It still hasn't been corrected, but at least the hedge has grown to obscure it and so it is not as dangerous as it once was !

  • Still no response from the highway authority. I'm not going to hold my breathe,

  • Obviously there is no intention by the Authority to resolve the problem. If this really is not sent to the Council, what is the point of fixmyatreet.com? Who does read this, or am I addressing nobody?
