Numerous near misses on the roundabout

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 14:26, Sat 3 July 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2837794.

There is a local Facebook page for Victoria Dock and we all experience near misses and people using the wrong lanes and going through red traffic lights on an almost daily basis. I experienced a near miss just yesterday when a driver ran a red light and shot across the exit from Plimsoll Way where I was waiting when we had the green traffic light to pull out. It was only the fact that the car in front of me was slow to move off when our light turned green that avoided an accident. As there are so many sets of lights at intervals round the roundabout drivers look ahead and see a green light where they need to go and miss the red lights much closer to them. You may believe that the traffic light sequencing is correct and working properly but people drive through the red lights so often the design needs to be changed or more signs put up. The other issue is drivers using the right lane to exit Plimsoll Way who then turn left to cut round cars already waiting at the lights to go up Myton bridge.
