Visibility issues

Reported via mobile in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 11:00, Wed 30 June 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2828696.

Dear Sirs I would like to report visibility issues on the A47. There are numerous self seeded trees growing in the centre reserves which are now causing serious reduction of forward visibility for drivers in lane 2 on right hand curves.

There are too many locations to list but Acle to Norwich has several examples.

It would also be good to check visibility distances to all road signage also obscured by trees.

Please have your inspection teams investigate as a matter of urgency.

Yours faithfully, Steve Dickerson

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England regarding the vegetation on the A47.

We carry out regular inspections of all our roads and cut back the vegetation where we find that it is limiting visibility of road signs, traffic signals or the view ahead. Your concerns have been passed to our maintenance team. They will inspect the area shortly and if necessary, arrange for vegetation/grass to be cut.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

    Kind Regards Highways England
