Thank you for your fixmystreet report about queuing traffic signals displayed on your journey from the M32 to M4. We appreciate you taking the time to bring your concerns to our attention.
On certain sections of our motorway, we have sensors embedded into the carriageway surface.
When these sensors detect slow moving traffic, they automatically set signs on the overhead gantries warning road users of queuing traffic and to help safely manage the flow of traffic on the motorway.
This is what we believe you experienced at the time of your journey.
We hope this answers your enquiry. If you require any further update on this issue our Customer Contact Centre is available 24 hours a day at: • 0300 123 5000
