Wrong road signage
Reported via mobile in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 13:24, Mon 28 June 2021
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2823836.
When Highways England altered road priorities prior to 2015 they made a mistake with the road markings. On the last sign on the right lane as you approach the roundabout, they left the word "SUND" on the road after you swapped the priority to the left hand lane. There are many incidents at this junction where vehicles use the wrong lane for travelling to Sunderland. Sunderland Highways Department have confirmed your mistake and you were asked to remove this sign back in May by Sunderland Council engineers. Can you please remove the word "SUND" from the signage on the last sign on the right hand lane.

This problem was a mistake by Highways England from about 6 years ago. Sunderland Council engineer wrote to Highways England to resolve is around 3 months ago when they were in the same location working on the same roundabout. It would have taken them 20 minutes to resolve the issue but they ignored the engineer.

Still not fixed even though other lines have been modified. Council engineers have asked Highways England to put it right. Everybody is ignored.

When leaving the M60 at junction 9 anti clockwise you come to the island if you are then turning right to go to urmston on to loststock road you have 3 lanes you have the sign for urmston on the far right lane when you drive under the m60 you have to get in the far left lane it would be safer if the left lane said m60 south middle lane urmston right lane m60 north
