Flooding in outside lane

Reported via mobile in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 22:04, Fri 25 June 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

In bad weather the outside lane was largely flooded for a long distance over Birmingham and further. Water came over from cars/lorries going southbound, on to the cars/motorway going northbound. Also drivers were breaking heavily and having to swerve across lanes to maintain control of their cars and avoid the floods. Very dangerous, especially in the evening. Although appreciate it was well lit.

  • Thank you for your patience whilst we looked into your report. We're aware of the issues with flooding in this area. We're currently programming the work in this area to clear the drains and tidy the area of debris that could block the drains. As this work will require a lane closure to undertake we're waiting to share one with another team. We do this so we don't delay road users by installing multiple lane closures. Unfortunately, because of this, I am unable to provide you with a confirmed date we will be working in this area.
