Lane markers completely worn away.
Reported via mobile in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 19:37, Wed 23 June 2021
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2813975.
I drive across this roundabout every week day during the night. The lane markers are an absolute disgrace and the street lighting is not much better. I regularly witness drivers drifting across lanes as the markers cannot been seen. I have witnessed three collisions this past month alone. How can such a busy roundabout used by so many hgv's be allowed to be in such a horrendous state. The markers need repainting asap as its only a matter of time till there is a fatality on this roundabout.

Thank you for your patience whilst we looked into your report.
During the review our inspector doesn’t feel that the road markings aren't causing any safety concerns at this time and remedial work isn’t required. We're aware they're faded but faded lane lines are not a safety critical issue.
Our electrical team our aware of the issues with the street lights in this area. We identified a fault with the cable in this area meaning the lights aren't working as they should. We're planning on visiting this area in August to repair the cable to hopefully get the lights back on.
We will continue to review this and will arrange any required work if the situation changes.

Ok. Can you please explain that if " our inspector doesn’t feel that the road markings aren't causing any safety concerns at this time and remedial work isn’t required. We're aware they're faded but faded lane lines are not a safety critical issue." Why do the highways agency have to put up a big red sign on the entry to the roundabout warning "no road markings on roundabout" and this has been there for over 18 months now. There clearly is a safety concern with the road markings on this roundabout, so much so that you have to warn people about the ridiculous state this roundabout is in.
