Footway/cyclepath obstructed by vegetation

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 14:41, Fri 18 June 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2801752.

The verge has overgrown more than half the footway/cycle track here. No longer possible for cyclists to pass each other without stopping, vegetation starting to interfere with handlebars and hence steering.

Would be good to cut the vegetation back and also dig to recover the full width of the footway.

This report is now closed to updates from the public. You can make a new report in the same location.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England about the verge overgrown vegetation, along the footpaths and cycle paths.

Our Safety Inspector are aware of this after their weekly footpath inspection recently and we're currently writing to residents in the area for cuts to be carried out.

We continue to monitor vegetation growth during our weekly inspections, when any safety issues will be raised for urgent mitigation.

    Kind regards Highways England
