Dangerous junction obscured by overgrown verge

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 07:05, Tue 15 June 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2792239.

The junction is of poor visibility due to overgrown verge/grass. Vehicles that have a long bonnet/low down vehicles can not safely see until it is too late. I have seen an incident involving two vehicles in the last week potentially due to the obstruction/poor view. Location is close to Police head quarters where many attend for work and can not work from home. Thank you

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England regarding the vegetation on the A11.

I appreciate you taking the time to bring this matter to our attention.

We carry out regular inspections of all our roads and cut back the vegetation where we find that it is limiting visibility of road signs, traffic signals or the view ahead. Your concerns have been passed to our maintenance team. They will inspect the area shortly and if necessary, arrange for vegetation to be cut.

    Kind Regards Highways England
