Between J48 & J49 of EB A14. Outside lane. The concrete surface appears to have cracked open with rubble appearing on road. I passed over at 60-65 mph at about 6pm.

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2786158.

The concrete (not tarmac) surface appears to have fractured. A crack appeared.

Dangerous if deterioration.

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England regarding the cracked open concrete surface on the A14.

    After discussing the matter with our local inspector they have confirmed that they are aware have been keeping an eye on it until we can deliver the patching repairs on 25 June, weather dependant.

    We will continue to keep an eye on this until a full concrete construction scheme which is due to start September 2022 begins.
