I’m currently having a tyre replaced for the third time this year due to punctures.
This may, in some part be down to the accumulation of debris on the roads. In particular Silverdale Roundabout A453/A52 Nottinghamshire has large collections of stones, metal and no doubt screws and nails.
I am finding myself more frequently instructing my learner driver pupils to change position from the correct one to avoid this debris. This is increasing risk of collision, vehicle damage and is a skid hazard.
Could you please look into this problem and resolve the issue.
Thank you for contacting Highways England regarding debris on the A52/A453 at Silverdale. Whilst Highways England maintain the road, the responsibility for the cleanliness of the road is with the Local Authority.
The responsibility for this issue, on this road, is that of Nottingham City Council..
Could we please ask that you contact them to resolve.
Contact details for local authorities can be found by using the search facility at: www.gov.uk/find-your-local-council.
