Noisy manhole

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2768109.

There is a manhole on the edge of the A38 main carriageway which is becoming noisy, it has caused problems several times in the past and tends to deteriorate very rapidly once it starts due to the volume of heavy traffic which passes over it.

  • Thank you for your patience whilst our inspector reviewed your report.

    Our inspector visited the location and agrees that remedial work is needed to ensure the safety of road users.

    As such, a repair is planned, and we aim to complete this no later than 31 Jul 2021.

    Although we always aim to complete the repairs as planned, the date may change due to unforeseen circumstances.

    We will provide a further update to confirm when the work has been completed or, in exceptional circumstances, a revised date.
