Contradictory signage v road markings

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later
A61 Northbound (towards Barnsley) approach to M1 J36 roundabout. Following the changes to the roundabout layout the road markings have not been updated. The signage was updated to state Left lane= M1(N) and A61, Right lane = M1(S), A6195 and A6135 (correct per the new layout). However the markings on the road still state the left lane can be used for A6195 meaning two lanes of traffic from the approach are trying to join one lane going round the roundabout. I regularly see near misses and it is an accident waiting to happen.
Thank you for contacting Highways England on the 4 June regarding the lane markings for M1 J36/A61. We have asked our inspectors to attend the site and to observe the location and particularly the issue noted. Once they have reported back with their observations we will update you with the way forward. If you wish to contact Highways England further this can be done by phoning 0300 123 5000 or emailing email@example.com.
