Streetlights not working

Most of these streetlights round this area aren’t working. Please fix them as soon as possible. They have been like this for a long time. I know you will have other work to do but let’s make the m55 a better place

  • Thank you for your report about inoperative lighting on the M55 around Junction 1. We carry out lighting replacements and repairs as part of our routine maintenance schedule throughout the year to maintain the trunk roads and motorways in England to a safe and serviceable condition. Sometimes sections of lights may be inoperative, but the area as a whole still meets lighting standards. In these circumstances repairs may not be done immediately, but will be undertaken as part of our routine maintenance works. We have taken the decision to turn off certain sections of lighting around M55 Junction 1, including the entry slip road, on safety grounds, due to issues with the cables. Two schemes are being planned to replace the lighting. These are on the M6 north of Junction 30 to Junction 31A and the M6 Junction 32 to M55 Junction 1. Currently these schemes are expected to start in the 2020/21 financial year and be completed in 2021/22. In the meantime, the lighting in certain sections around M55 Junction 1 will remain deactivated.
