Litter everywhere

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2744891.

Litter strewn all in the hedgerows and central reservation from Junction 1 through to 3 (and probably beyond) to the detriment of wildlife. It makes you ashamed to be British when you see the pristine roads in other countries.

  • Thank you for your patience whilst our inspector reviewed your report. Litter will be removed from the motorway in accordance with our contractor's programme of litter removal. We agree with your feelings on litter, it's a blight on the environment and if litter wasn't dropped it wouldn't us to put the lives of our staff in danger removing it. I'm sorry the network doesn't look as we would like but this is a task that consumes a great deal of resources that could be used elsewhere in particular areas of safety.

    We will continue to review this and will arrange any required work if the situation changes.
