Dangerous queuing on to the dual carriage way

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 11:26, Fri 21 May 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2740174.

Work on the claydon roundabout is causing queues on to the A14 westbound at rush hour. The 2nd lane of the slip road has been closed near the bottom. Unfortunately nobody is using the 2nd lane of the slip road and instead they are queuing unnecessarily on the A14. This caused an accident yesterday and I imagine more will happen soon. A temporary sign is required to tell people to queue on BOTH lanes of the slip road. Traffic can then merge as they get near the bottom. This will take alot of the cars off the A14. I queued in the second lane today and was met with abuse of a driver. People don't understand this is safer than being stationary on the A14. Please put the signs up! There is a traffic depot stacked with these signs just a couple of miles away!
