Highly dangerous maintenance layby with inadequate road markings and signage

Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 13:17, Mon 17 May 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2731298.

The westbound carriageway is a death trap and risks serious accident. the layby needs coning off permanently until better markings and signage are installed. The crash barrier is too short and ineffective. any vehicle leaving the road on this fast bend will head straight for the bridge abutment - certain death or very serious injury. About HGV per hour misjudges this bend and rides the verge. It is incredibly dangerous.
