Crack in SB M5 Overbridge reported to Devon County Council

A member of the public has reported a crack / movement in the underside of the SB M5 overbridge (approx. 5m inside the south elevation). A DCC structures inspector visited the site and observed what a appears to be historic movement/cracking that has been previously repaired. The inspector has responded to the member of the public with that information and confirmed the information would be passed to Highways England.

Thank you for your patience whilst our structural engineer visited site.
Our engineer noted that the ‘crack’ as reported is the joint to the extension. He did not witness any crack during his inspection.
There is a historical defect, where the centre span deck has a step in construction joint, against existing deck where soffit moved during construction. This has been chamfered back’
