Sign to slip road for A12 Lowestoft direction is very late

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 13:20, Sun 2 May 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

The signposting for this major intersection leading to slip road off to A12 Lowestoft is very late and very easy to miss. Poorly lit area and results in lots of vehicles carrying on to Felixstowe and having to turn back

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England.

The signage at the junction is sufficient and adding any further signage is unnecessary, and will only increase sign clutter on the network.

On the eastbound A14 there is a large directional sign ½ mile before the junction indicating Felixstowe is straight ahead, and to turn off at junction 58 for the A12 (N) and Lowestoft and Woodbridge. There is another similar sign at the start of the off-slip. There are also road markings on the A14 indicating the need to turn off for the A12(N).
