Removal of traffic lights

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 18:29, Sun 25 April 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2690632.

As part of the redevelopment of this junction the traffic lights regulating the flow of traffic onto the island from both A512 eastbound and A512 M1 northbound have been removed. There does not appear to be a plan to replace these lights as the work is nearing completion. It has now become very difficult and dangerous for cyclists and pedestrians to cross the Northbound M1 slipway as at busier times there is a continuous flow of fast traffic. This is the main pedestrian and cycle route from Loughborough to Shepshed.
