Redundant roadworks on M55 ?

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2682355.

Wondering what the purpose is of hardshoukder roadworks between B18.0 and B18.5? Seem to have been there for months.

Updates

  • The hard shoulder closure in question is in place due to small hole which has appeared in the hard shoulder. The traffic management is protecting the defected area and members of the public if they were to stop there. It is checked weekly as part of the safety inspection. The problem is currently being investigated and we believe there is an issue with the carrier drain for the gullies. The TM will remain in place until remedial works are programmed.
