Wrong Signage and paint on road

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 11:19, Fri 9 April 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2661819.

The road layout has changed on the roundabout but the signage and the paint markings approaching the roundabout have not been changed. These need to be changed to reflect the changes. Driving from Glascote heading towards Ventura Tamworth.

Updates

  • The recently introduced hatching lines are confusing and we can foresee problems. Drivers in the left hand lane used to be able to enter the Bitterscote Retail Park and now they either drive across the hatching or make a dangerously late lane change. There are four lanes of traffic approaching the roundabout but only three on the roundabout. We think the hatching lines are unnecessary and do not improve traffic flow or safety.

  • The road traffic sign at the approach to this changed junction still indicates that traffic can either turn left or proceed straight on into the retail park ( Sainsburys etc ). This is a major problem with vehicles changing lane mid junction. There is a major risk to life.
