Pedestrian crossing signals not working

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 14:18, Wednesday 7 April 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

If you press the button and wait to cross, nothing happens and then the button light just cancels. Very dangerous to cross on foot without the lights on this busy road. Urgent.

  • Thank you for taking the time to bring this matter to our attention.

We have sent our Traffic Signal engineers to site, who confirmed that this site is working correctly.

The pushbuttons are on the poles at the back of the pavement, and there are detectors also built into where the button is pushed. Therefore when the user pushes the button then walks out of sight from the detector, this would cause the traffic signals to cancel the sequence. If you require any further update on this issue our Customer Contact Centre is available 24 hours a day at: • 0300 123 5000
