Roadworks causing stationary traffic on A1(M) northbound at junction 10

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2641951.

The exit slip lane closure and single lane roundabout today caused the traffic leaving at junction 10 to back up into a stationary queue on the main carriageway (approximately 1730hrs). Given that the cameras are displaying ‘not in use’ signs and people aren’t generally obeying the 50mph speed limit, I’m concerned that this is going to cause an accident.

Updates

  • Junction 10 exit A1M is backing up onto the A1 causing stationary traffic on the A1. This is an accident waiting to happen. Can the exit slip not be put back to a double lane ?
