Kerbline protrudes

Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 14:27, Wed 24 March 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2630961.

A longstanding issue which could be solved with and edgeline and/or studs. The slip road here is supported by a retaining wall on top of which is a three-rail metal parapet. The kerbline is not parallel to the wall/parapet and visibility of the kerb is not good. In bright sunshine or at night with the street lighting on the parapet casts a shadow which gives the impression of being the edge of the carriageway. However the kerb does not follow the same line and motorists can be confused leading to hitting the kerb. A review of the lining here could solve the issue for not very much money, though I suspect you would have to spend a lot more to justify it (or prove it isn't vale for money) though VM. Was raised as a watchman issue about ten years ago but lost in the subsequent changes of contract and responsibility. Still worthwhile to do.
