Hello I am writing to point out the appalling state of the drainage channel alongside the A5 from the M42 junction10 to the Mile Oak junction. This channel should remove surface water from the road, but instead performs more of a water storage function due to the huge quantities of silt and debris accumulated and blocking the gullies. I am a regular user of this section of road and can say that the debris and silt has not been cleared for several years. At times of even moderate rain there are huge puddles which encroach onto the carriageway presenting a danger to motorists. I am also appalled at the amount of rubbish strewn along this section of road, this is hardly a good advertisement for the area. Kind regards David Williams

Thank you for your patience whilst we looked into your report.
We have some lane closure coming up along the A5 starting on 8 July. We will have lane closure from M42 junction 10 along the A5 to Weeford Interchange. While these lane closures are in place, we will be undertaking work to clear the drains along this stretch and clear any debris.
I'm sorry for the delay in getting any remedial work done but I hope that you will notice a difference in this area in the coming weeks.
