Litter on A43

Reported via desktop in the Litter (NH) category anonymously at 08:37, Tue 9 March 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2596110.

The litter on the verges and central reservation of the A43 Brackley - Northampton in both directions is an utter disgrace. To compound the problem the contractor grass cutters were out shredding the litter thereby multiplying the problem. Laughable and embarrassing, especially as we are paying for the service.

Updates

  • Still litter everywhere.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • Followed yesterday several large trucks carrying waste to the incinerator at Ardley and landfill site at Finmere. I was horrified at the amount of unsecured loose plastic and litter blowing off these lorries, which explains the scandalous amounts of filth and rubbish littering the verges of this and surrounding roads. This is way above what you would expect to see alongside most trunk roads, so the operators of these sites and hauliers who supply them must be forced to bear the cost of keeping roads cleaned.
