There are so much litter along the m54 in Telford and on the road from Shrewsbury to Telford leading on to the m54. This include the slip roads on all of the junctions from junction 4 to 7. It looks like a third world country with all this litter. Please clear this up .

Thank you for your patience whilst we looked into your report. Litter picking is a short term, retrospective solution, which would be significantly reduced if litter was not dropped. We are committed to working to address the root cause, which requires changing the behaviour of those who currently feel that it is acceptable to drop litter. We work with anti-litter organisations (such as Keep Britain Tidy), the police, and local authorities to try to tackle these issues at source. In the short term, our litter picking is carefully planned, along with all of our maintenance, to try to minimise the impact it has on road users, and ensure that it is cost effective to the public. Picks often require traffic management measures, which are both costly and disruptive. To help reduce the need for these measures, we usually combine our litter picks with other maintenance work. We will be continuing to look for opportunities to schedule picks along the M54, as our schedule of maintenance and safety critical works allow. I am sorry that I’m not able to give you a date for this work at this time. We will be continuing to monitor this situation as part of our routine inspections.

Nearly a year later and no change. All M54 junctions are a real mess with litter. Looks awful. Completely agree people shouldn't drop litter in the first place but it looks terrible for the rest of us too.

Seeing as the m54 will be closed in places for resurfacing in Jan 2022, might be a good opportunity to clean it up a bit.
