Huge quantities of litter either side of the A12

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2590121.

There is litter strewn all along the verges either side of the A12 and down the central reservation. It is awful. Please send a team out to collect litter soon. At the moment the trees and hedges are still bare of leaves and it will be easier to collect the rubbish. I have seen it all the way between Stock and Brentwood, but I would expect that there is a strong chance it is the same elsewhere.

  • On the A12 between Old Ford and Hackney on the side of the road there has been a mattress and an internal house door for many months that needs to be removed before there is a serious accident. It is on the side of the carriage way heading out of Bow towards the Green Man area

  • I travelled this past weekend down the A12 and was dispirited and dismayed by the amount of litter on the side of this road. Judging by the state of the litter it has been there for some time. It really is a disgrace to those bodies charged with removing it and sends out a signal that they simply do not care about the environment, local residents and those who travel down this road.

  • Utter filth strewn on both sides of the A12, starting really from the M25 junction north until the Suffolk border where it seems to stop.

  • Huge amounts of rubbish on A12 again particularly from colchester football ground to Stanway and then from Mountnessing to M25 junction. Under the M25 flyover and roundabout the amount of rubbish is a disgrace. Old tyres and car parts litter the entire road from M25 to Suffolk border. I travel this road every day and it's getting worse all the time. I don't understand why it can't be kept in a decent condition.

  • Why oh why have Highways still not cleared the litter on the A12? It’s embarrassing and not a great sight to see when tourists embark from Harwich. It is a road safety hazard. Please publish the risk assessment as I am concerned when the wind blows, in certain directions, the litter becomes a real hazard.
