Poor phasing of traffic lights overnight

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 10:29, Fri 5 March 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2588396.

As someone who regularly uses this stretch of road eastbound after midnight I have noticed that the traffic lights continue to cycle through even though no traffic is present. Almost every night i am bought to a stop by these lights when on the A27 but there is nothing crossing towards Lewes in front of me.

Can the phasing be loocked at or the lights set to work on a detector for traffic crossing towards Lewes from the Kingston side.

TIA
