A27 - Potholes and road breaking up

The westbound carriageway from the Lancing Manor Roundabout up to and beyond my address 5 Upper Brighton Road (BN140JH) has many potholes and the road is breaking up in places. I am unlucky enough to own my own personal pothole. Some areas are so bad that cyclists could lose their balance with catastrophic results with the speed and amount of traffic using the road. Needs urgent attention. It has required attention for a considerable time.

Thank you for your report about the condition of the carriageway.
We're aware of the carriageway deterioration and our maintenance service providers are looking to carry out urgent patching works by way of mitigation, though at this time a date hasn't been finalised.
In the meantime, we carry out weekly safety inspections when any defects are recorded and suitable mitigation arranged.
Safety defects are attended to and made safe within 24 hours and any permanent repairs that are required are then carried out within 28 days. Service defects are less severe and are further categorised into high or low priority. Service high defects will aim to be repaired within 6 months, whereas service low defects are monitored and placed into future programme of works and bid for funding.
