Litter all along the hard shoulder

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2585633.

From about here all along the hard shoulder and shrubbery there is a sea of litter, mostly plastic strung across the A27 until the Hove/ Devils Dyke interchange. Whilst generally unsightly this must be an environmental concern for the area as well.

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England about the amount of litter observed along this stretch of the A27 . However, litter responsibilities on A-roads lie with local authorities. In this instance this would be Brighton and Hove City Council. They can be contacted at cityclean@brighton-hove.gov.uk to report and understand how they manage their responsibilities. We have reported our own concerns to the Council during February, requesting that they arrange litter collections as soon as practicable.
