Incorrect signage resulting in dangerous queuing

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 20:21, Mon 1 March 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2580626.

Incorrect Chapter 8 signage on west bound M18 at off ramp to A1 / M18 roundabout causing queuing on hard shoulder and off ramp chaos and severe risk situation.

The same situation is on the northbound section of the A1 approaching this junction. Really confusing signage creating inappropriate queuing and people trying to turn off on to off ramp presenting a very dangerous situation where accidents will happen if not addressed asap.

  • Thank you for your patience whilst our inspector reviewed your report. During the review our inspector doesn’t feel that this is causing any safety concerns at this time and remedial work isn’t required. Signage is no longer duplicated on the verge and the central reservation, therefore queuing traffic do not see signage until they have reached it. All RAMS prevent signage in the central reservation due to the risk of crossing carriageways.
