Dangerous flying litter on a27

Reported via desktop in the Litter (NH) category anonymously at 17:48, Mon 1 March 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2580279.

Due to covid we rarely go out in the car but yesterday we had to drive along the A27 between Shoreham-Brighton. I WAS APPALLED at the amount of litter along the verges.....not stuff that folk throw out of cars but BUILDERS RUBBISH great sheets of plastic caught on bushes, waving around in the wind DON'T HIGHWAYS ENGLAND ever clean up?? this is SO DANGEROUS, one of those sheets of plastic could easily wrap round a windscreen to cause a dreadful accident. PLEASE PLEASE send this to Highways England, THEY ARE NOT DOING THEIR JOB AND ARE RISKING LIVES!

Updates

  • I received a letter from the authorities involved and they said they clean it up regularly. this is totally incorrect, it needs doing weekly and is a disgrace to West Sussex .
