Updates

  • We are making improvements to the roundabout that will allow two lanes of traffic to travel around the roundabout safely. This will improve journey times and traffic flow along the A27 and improve ease of access from Alfriston Road and Station Road onto the A27. Adding temporary traffic lights will cause lengthy delays on the trunk road. A speed limit of 30mph has been introduced for the duration of the works which are scheduled to be completed in January 2022. Our traffic management teams continue to monitor the situation. Thank you for bearing with us.

  • Please can someone confirm there will be traffic lights installed on the A27 to ensure traffic leaving Drusillas (or coming from Alfriston) can safely get out onto the A27. With the re-opening of Drusillas on 12/4 it will prove both dangerous and extremely difficult for drivers trying to get out onto the A27. Given this is a major visitor attraction and likely to have thousands of visitors again, it will quickly become a substantial issue if something isn’t done quickly. Accepting that temp lights will have a knock on effect to the A27 but surely safety must be prioritised?
