Lots of litter and rubbish in verge

Reported via mobile in the Litter (NH) category anonymously at 19:20, Wed 24 February 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2570277.

On road between Picket Hill & the M27 Jt 1 has a number of badger bodies and loads of litter and waste to the extent my wife is noticing it. I appreciate it is only done once or twice a year. We are a tourist route and it looks bad. My wife also states it attracts animals too. Thanks for closing the lay by as it gives us relief from lorries with chiller motors at night and also stops fly tipping into the forest especially the bottles of urine. We do need toilets along the route.

  • Thank you for your patience whilst our inspector reviewed your report. During the review our inspector has confirmed clearance of that litter would be the responsibility of the Local Authority and not Highways England here. They added that New Forest District Council would be responsible. They suggested you contact them for further information.
