Old road markings visible

Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 20:05, Thu 18 February 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2555981.

Since the M23 has been made into a smart motorway the old road markings can still be seen on the road making it very difficult to distinguish what lane you are in. I find driving Southbound when the sun is directly infront of you in the afternoon very bad and I find it very difficult to see which lane I am in as the old and new markings reflect. I am worried that i'm driving out of lane sometimes. The removal of the old markings seems insufficient and they need to be properly removed so they are not visible against the new markings
