The road sign for separating traffic for the Plymouth East end/Kingsbridge/ Plymstock from traffic continuing on the parkway is too close to the slip road. In Exeter there is a 2 mile warning, At this junction it is about 50mtrs.

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 22:07, Wed 17 February 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2553508.

The lack of early warning of the problem causes near misses with an accident waiting to happen. Drivers who are strangers to the road sign are inclined to change lanes without warning at the last minute. This is not good in an area where we are likely to have more holiday makers than ever.

Updates

  • Thank you for your patience whilst our inspector reviewed your report.

There are 2 other signs on the road at the 1m and 1/2m mark before the junction. There is also temporary black and yellow sign that you may have seen are referring to. However we feel there is enough signage here to provide warning to drivers.

We'll continue to monitor this location, as we do all areas of the network, and intervene if needed.
