Litter and old fly tipping in the (currently closed off) lay-by/picnic area opposite entrance to Sacrewell Farm

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later
This site has years' of accumulated rubbish and fly tipping which is on and adjacent to public footpath 'Nene Way' including household items and numerous bottles of urine. There has been a great upgrade to the footpath recently but the litter has not been cleared which is an eyesore.
This would be Peterborough City councils responsibility. Best to contact them directly as it has been forwarded onto Highways England who aren't responsible for clearing this area. It's amazing really how this area has been closed off for so long and not once has the council thought about arranging it to be cleared..

Thank you for contacting us regarding the litter on Nene Way footpath. Unfortunately litter on and near the network is the responsibility of the local authority. Our inspectors can raise issues of litter to the local authority however it is for them to action and clear. Kind Regards Highways England
State changed to: not the council's responsibility
