Diversion Sign Confusion

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2543047.

A11 closed South Bound at B1172 (Spooner Row)- Diversion Signs direct traffic back onto Northbound A11 all the way down to Thickthorn Roundabout then left onto London road where the diversion ends??? Laziness not to clearly mark a temporary diversion while leaving older diversion routes visible. 30 wasted miles driven in minus temperatures in the dark. Not Safe

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England. I have been in contact with various people regarding this diversion route and this was not our planned diversion route at all. When planning a diversion route we ensure that it is agreed between with Highways England and the Local Authority. If traffic has been directed elsewhere, we can only assume that this was as a result of signage being interfered with and I would like to apologise for the disruption that this has caused.
