West Bound - Light Colin has been struck or damaged

Reported via mobile in the Street lighting (NH) category anonymously at 19:32, Wed 10 February 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2538798.

Hello a lighting pole has moved or been damage by either weather or a vehicular accident. The Light is now very brigh, distracting and is directly in to our homes at 909/ 911 New Hey Road and is not illuminating the motorway.

I’d like this address in relation to the following ACT.

Light pollution as a Statutory Nuisance The Environmental Protection Act 1990 and The Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 includes “artificial light emitted from premises so as to be prejudicial to health or a nuisance” as a statutory nuisance. Generally the Act limits the definition to lighting from premises (other than those listed in the Act).

Updates

  • Hi Please be advised there are no lights out of alignment near New Hey rd. However there is a light westbound which has rotated slightly possibly due to the screws needing to be tightened, but this does not have any effect on the properties mentioned (no light shining in their properties). Out electrical team will visit the area and correct the rotated lamp. Regards Donna
