Stones and grit on the motorway junction

Reported via mobile in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 23:20, Mon 1 February 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2517780.

There are stones and grit on this corner that cause vehicle damage when passing through the route. This may be due to grit laid down to prevent snow but it is a recurring issue. My windscreen was damaged as a result and I had to replace it at my own expense.

Updates

  • Highways inspector attended site 11.02.2021 and found loose stone debris on the hard shoulder only. Gritting salt wouldn't cause a chip in a windscreen, we use a pre- wet mixture of brine and salt. This route is programmed to be resurfaced in June 2021.
