M5 J27 road closed

Reported via mobile in the Roadworks (NH) category anonymously at 19:46, Thu 28 January 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2508254.

I submitted this: The roundabout road over the M5 is closed. There is no signage to say the road is closed when approaching from the east, until it is too late, this then forces you up the m5, meaning learner drivers, buses are all having to go up the m5!

You responded with: We have a lane 1 closure in place on the A361 approaching the M5 to hold non-motorway traffic. There are also temporary traffic lights on the roundabout to turn around vehicles who can then take the non-motorway diversion.

This does not answer the issue. Approaching from the east is the A38 not A361. There was no clear signage to show that you cannot go round the roundabout fully and exit by the A38 again. The roundabout is closed and the only exit is M5 southbound, A361 or M5 North when coming from the A38

  • The road is closed again today, absolutely no signage until it is too late. Not everyone is allowed to use the M5 as a diversion route due to licence restrictions!

  • Please accept our apologies for our misunderstanding. We’ve asked the team to add additional signage if we close the North Bridge again for those making essential journeys in lockdown.
