Street lighting under the m25

Sent to National Highways and Surrey County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2482633.

The street lights under the M25 attached to the Overpass for junction 6 are not working there is 6 in total on both sides of the roundabout they need fixing.

Updates

  • Several lights are not working on the motorway. Very dangerous, most unlit areas from junction 7 to 19 ( not sure before or beyond these junctions). Please fix these.

  • There are not SEVERAL street lights not working, MOST of the street lights between J14 and J19. This is dangerous as we approach darker evenings!

  • Why are there no streetlights on the M25 between Reigate and Wisley...very dangerous and needs addressing.

  • There are loads of lamposts not working on the M25 halfway between junctions 7 M23 to near junction 9 Dorking and also from near junction 9 to Cobham services and a chunk of lampposts around Junction 10 area which I presume is for the ongoing improvement works

  • Stop turning off the lights on the M25! It’s Oct 19th 2025 at 6:50 PM with heavy rain and fog and all the lights are turned off!!? I agree with climate goals but the motor way is not the place to save energy. Shocking decision

  • 19th October 2025 - 8.25pm Lights keep being turned off and on again every 5-10 minutes this evening. Incredibly dangeous driving experience; especially with the rain.
