Temporary speed limit for no apparent reason

Temporary speed limit at location of almost a month. Sign states due to damage safety barriers. However work was seen to be carried out on 22nd December. Sections of safety barriers appear to have been replaced. Temporary speed limit signs are still up and no one is adhering to them. If these barriers are so dangerous then it is concerning they have not been fixed yet or a lane closure put in place. Please arrange for this to be sorted ASAP.

Thank you for contacting Highways England about temporary speed limit due to barrier works.
We are aware of this and repair works are planned however we're awaiting materials to complete the works. Once they are given to our contractor we will complete the works and remove the speed limit.
Kind regards Highways England

Thank you for your response. Any comments on the fact that everyone is ignoring the limits and therefore maybe you should consider something more robust? I have had two near misses over the last couple of nights due to the contraflow in the tunnel. signs for that start less than 50metres after the clearance for this issue. Drivers just ignore it thinking that it is more signs left up for no reason and then end up slamming on their brakes and dive in when lane 2 closes. Poor driving, yes, but I believe something more robust should be in place to force people to slow down and alleviate the danger entirely. Surely the lane should be closed adjacent to the damaged section if this is going to be a long term issue waiting for the parts? These limits have been in place for over a month and just asking people to go slower is not working.
