M6 Underpass Moss Lane
Reported via mobile in the Flytipping (NH) category anonymously at 06:17, Wed 6 January 2021
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2463453.
The underpass of the M6 has been trashed by kids, smashed glass all over through place. Its dangerous for kids. We rely on this or connect us to Leyland. Maybe its time to spend some money on this under pass, refurbishment? With CCTV to get rid of the kids who now use it as a home to smoke drugs and drink. Wither that or brick it up and build a foot bridge! This has become a discussion on the local Facebook group with growing community concern Clayton le woods community group.

Thank you for your patience while we investigated the issues at Moss Lane underpass. Highways England is responsible for the structure of this underpass. Cleaning and the installation of CCTV is a matter for Ribble Borough Council. You can contact them at webmaster@ribblevalley.gov.uk . We will consider the feasibility of the installation of a footbridge here, then the underpass could be made inaccessible. We will need to undertake a cost/benefit analysis of building a bridge and I'm unable to give a date for when this would be done.
